Farrers is synonymous with high-end private client work and has acted for many of the great and the good, including Charles Dickens and the Duke of Wellington. It has a well-documented history acting for members of the British Royal Family. As with many private client heavy firms, however, the client base has diversified from the blue-blooded and green-wellied to other high-net-worth individuals from Russia, the Middle East and beyond.
A corporate practice has also developed over the last decade or so, though it most definitely plays third or fourth fiddle after not only private client, but also the family, media and agriculture teams.
Current senior partner Anne-Marie Piper took up the role in May 2017 and is the first woman to lead the firm.
