Having taken the reins as head of the firm’s business services group in 2021, Hill Dickinson’s Craig Scott has orchestrated impressive growth. In the last year alone, he has brought in 18 laterals into the group, brought in 10 internal partner promotions, and expanded expertise with the addition of funds, tax and commercial litigation in the London office.
Behind the scenes, the financial achievements have been exceptional. In the last financial year, the business services group achieved record growth with the topline reaching £57.6m, up from £46m two years prior. And as for distributable profits, this has grown by an impressive £10m in two years, with the group on track to add another £10m in 2024, defying market challenges.
As 2024 unfolds, a significant transformation awaits Scott as he prepares to tackle his biggest challenge yet: assuming the CEO position from longstanding leader Peter Jackson in May 2024. As Scott adjusts his focus to encompass the firmwide outlook, his track record in fostering talent, upholding company culture and drawing in noteworthy figures undoubtedly positions him well for the forthcoming challenge.
