Steve Sherman joined BSI Group in January, 2010 as its General Counsel in the Americas region. He is responsible for all of BSI’s legal affairs for its business operations in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil and is a member of BSI’s Americas’ Leadership Council. He currently is President of the 2600-member National Capital Region chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel.
He previously served as General Counsel of SGS North America, Inc., the regional affiliate of a Swiss-based, listed global testing and certification services company, was a partner in the Business Law Group of Patton Boggs, LLP (now known as Squire Patton Boggs), a global AmLaw 100 firm, and served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center.

There are a lot of different hats that lawyers are having to wear, and the last few years of permacrisis meant that managing a crisis has become a permanent must have in a GC’s arsenal of skills. This session looks at real life examples of managing a crisis and discussing best practice. Our panel will share insights into the different crisis situations they and their companies have faced, how it enfolded and how have they navigated the whole process, while leaving you armed with a practical toolkit that you can then adapt and translate into your own organisation.
